In 2009, HEH began collaborating with Hopital Sacre Coeur (HSC), the largest hospital in the North of Haiti, with more than 70 beds and 50,000 outpatient visits per year.  The goal of this collaboration is to thoroughly assess the early infant diagnosis of HIV/AIDS and the pediatric antiretroviral therapy programs at HSC, to identify any gaps in diagnosis or care, and to work with the hospital to identify and implement sustainable solutions to address these areas needing improvement. Ultimately, we hope to present a scalable, replicable model of improved pediatric HIV diagnosis and care to other hospitals in Haiti, and eventually to hospitals throughout the developing world.
